A hydrolyzed diet means that the protein is broken down into its component parts (peptides and amino acids) so it’s very easy to digest. The hydrolysis process is actually fairly similar to how protein is digested in the stomach. Most hydrolyzed proteins are from either eggs, chicken, chicken liver or fish. pawTree recipes are not hydrolyzed, this type of diet is more likely found in prescription diets as opposed to wellness diets (such as pawTree).
