Our Ear Wash & Ear Dry should help to prevent swimmer's ear, as it's an infection of the external ear canal associated with water retention there. Dogs are at greater risk than humans, because a dog's ear canal is L-shaped, going down and then bending inward. Bacteria love this moist, warm, dark environment. This can affect all dogs, but especially the ones with ear flaps, as they are less likely to get air in there to dry them. To help prevent this, you should clean your dog's ears after every swim or bath (any time around water). When bathing, it's a good idea to put cotton in their ears while in the tub to help prevent the water from getting in their ears (this is not practical if your dog dock dives). You should remove any wax or debris that you see first and follow the directions on the Ear Wash & Ear Dry. You should do this immediately after the swim or bath, and maybe for 2 - 3 days after to make sure the infection is gone..
